Strengthening Cybersecurity Capacity in West Africa
Qualisys Consulting Leads Risk Management Training in The Gambia

As part of its commitment to advancing digital resilience and risk governance across Africa, QUALISYS Consulting recently facilitated a Risk Assessment and Management Training in The Gambia under the WARDIP Project.

The mission, officially titled “Risk Assessment and Management Training for the Identification and Strengthening of Cybersecurity Management and Critical Information Infrastructure (CMCII)”, focused on enhancing participants’ ability to identify, assess, and mitigate information security risks within their respective organizations.

Hosted at the GICTA Conference Room, the five-day intensive training brought together professionals from diverse sectors, including public administration, compliance, auditing, and ICT governance. The program followed international standards such as ISO/IEC 27005 and ISO 31000, offering participants a structured understanding of risk management concepts and practices relevant to cybersecurity.

The sessions combined theoretical insights with practical applications, allowing attendees to engage in real-world case discussions, simulation exercises, and collaborative workshops. Key components of the training included:

  • Establishing and maintaining a robust risk management framework
  • Conducting effective risk assessments and treatments
  • Communicating and reporting on information security risks
  • Applying international methodologies such as OCTAVE, MEHARI, EBIOS, and NIST RMF

At the end of the program, participants received a Certificate of Completion, marking a significant step toward strengthening regional capacity in cybersecurity management and critical information infrastructure protection.

This initiative reinforces QUALISYS Consulting’s ongoing role as a trusted partner in delivering high-impact training and advisory services that support digital transformation and risk resilience across West Africa.
